  • Newsletter Signups: Name and email address.
  • Ticket Purchases: When you purchase tickets via our third-party partners (such as Ticketmaster), we may receive basic contact information to facilitate your event attendance.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data solely for the purpose of operating PECMI events (such as the Great Canadian Cheese Festival). This includes:

  • Reviewing and processing vendor/volunteer applications.
  • Communicating with you regarding your application status or ticket purchase.
  • Sending event updates (only if you have opted-in to our newsletter).
  • We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.


4. Email Communication (CASL Compliance)
We comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We categorize our communications as follows:

  • Transactional: If you submit a vendor application or purchase a ticket, we will email you with essential information regarding that specific transaction.
  • Existing Business Relationship: If you have attended a PECMI event in the past, we may send you occasional updates and invitations to our upcoming events. Under CASL, your ticket purchase provides “Implied Consent” for 24 months. You can opt out of these updates at any time.
  • Newsletter (Marketing): For our general news and “Cheese Board” updates, we use a “Double Opt-In” system. You will only be added to this list if you explicitly confirm your subscription.
  • Unsubscribe: Every marketing or event-update email we send includes a clear “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom. We honor all unsubscribe requests immediately.


5. Privacy-First Analytics (No Cookies)
We value your digital privacy. Our websites use Independent Analytics, a privacy-focused tool that allows us to see how our website is performing without tracking you personally.

  • No Cookies: We do not use tracking cookies.
  • No PII: We do not collect or store your IP address or any personally identifiable information through our analytics.
